Cairo Plan 2050: Between Development and Right to Housing Cairo Association for Development and Law is following up, with a great concern, the conditions and fate of thousands of Egyptian citizens who are being threatened to empty Al Waraq Island. This comes in the context of the Great Cairo Plan 2050 for Investment and Development which has been approved by the state for many years. Throughout this paper the association seeks to put a proposal regarding human-based development which considers the state’s respects and regards in development and investment and also citizens’ rights and fates; especially after the clashes happened among security forces and Al Waraq Island residents who refuse to empty the island and insist on staying in their homes and lands despite the weak and poor conditions of services and facilities in the island.
Cairo Center for Development and Law held today a press conference to launch the study "Codified violence against women: law draft proposal to criminalize violence against women and protect them", prepared by the human rights lawyer Mr. Sayed Abo El Ala.The researcher presented the study then discussed it with the attendees. The study reviews the international and Egyptian legal frameworks that provide protection for women against violence. In addition, it measures how much the Egyptian legislation is convenient with the international conventions in such matter. The study makes use of the results and outcomes of the discussion sessions held by Cairo Center for Development and Law with specialists, the concerned and female survivors of violence to come out with Egyptian law draft combatting violence against women.

Cairo Center for Development and Human Rights: A visit to Zinhom's morgue is a humanitarian tragedy between negligence and lack of possibilities. Zinhom's morgue scene raises a lot of questions after events of rabaa EL-Adawya, El- nahda, 15th may and finally Ramses. The possibilities of this morgue was a subject for questions because this morgue was surprised by about 700 body through a few hours on unfolding Rabaa and El nahda demonstrations, taking into account that this morgue is not able to contain these huge number because of it's absorptive capacity does not exceed a 100 refrigerator which was a reason for the ambulance to leave this bodies in custody of folks which caused a stinky smell and using bags and ice sheets to conserve it, in spite of the initiatives of the ministry of justice and the ministry of defense to supply the morgue with a new refrigerator, but that was not enough with the weakness of the possibilities of the morgue, the lack of anatomy doctors, the helpers and the primitive tools all of that in a shadow of working day and night.

In the context of the project "Mechanisms of Combating Violence against Women", Cairo Center for Development and Human Rights issues manual entitles "Questions & Answers in Personal Status Cases" in cooperation with Open Society Institute. The manual includes the necessary legal information and procedures that should be followed when women exposed to violence starting from meeting exposed-to-violence women in the center. The most common question and answers in personal status matters such as marriage, alimony and its types, divorce and its types, obedience, custody and seeing are those concerning personal status for Non-Muslims. This manual comes in wider context to simplify the necessary legal information for women who are exposed to domestic and martial violence whether because they lack the enough knowledge of their rights that law has guarantees for them or because the slow procedures in front of courts. This manual will be the start of series of analytic studies about personal status laws and Egyptian family in a way that preserves women's dignity and achieves family stability.
